Jim Rubens began his political service by overcoming stiff odds and defeating a sitting state senate president, winning a state senate seat in the heavily Democratic Hanover area. A combination of big ideas and a tireless work ethic turned his campaign success into legislative success. Going toe-to-toe with Jeanne Shaheen, Jim Rubens won big victories for charter schools, local elections and taxpayers (SB 2 voting), choice and lower electric rates for ratepayers, and restitution for crime victims. Jim Rubens is not afraid to lead, effectively communicating the power of big, bold ideas to solve tough problems. Jim Rubens embodies the Republican spirit of leading on the issues.
Jim Rubens is a small business owner, entrepreneur and two-term Republican State Senator who served as the chair of the Public Affairs and Education Committees.
